Default AT&T 8120 VERY Weak Vibrate

Please Login to Remove!

I just got the AT&T 8120 on Saturday and love it, except for the weak vibrate function. Has anyone else experience this issue on the 8120? I'm wondering if should just exchange it for another one, or if they're all like that?

I would exchange it, or at least test it with another model to see if they all do this. It might be something common with those models (possibly).

the pearl 2 devices i have used and have have a stronger vibrate than the 8100 did. its not as good as the 83xx (which in turn is not as good as the 88xx) but still works just fine for me. you may have gotten a bad device. since you are on Tmo, did you pay full retail? if so how did you get AT&T business to sell it to you?

I didn't pay full retail, but bought it through my work's AT&T link and opened a new acct, then closed it when I got the phone

be very careful with that, if under contract you might get hit with the full price on your card or your company (unless they have a specific type of agreement with AT&T)

Also, looks like T-Mobile will carry the 8120 in a few weeks:T-Mobile's BlackBerry Pearl 8120 looks ripe for April 14 - Engadget Mobile

Also, in my experience, BlackBerrys have a softer vibrate so that if in a meeting or other quite location, you are the only one who knows your phone is receiving a message or call...

and I just bought my pearl from at&t retail online. I was in My Account and selected the upgrade link. Now I am not eligible but they offer a 'No Commitment' option. I paid $300 as opposed to $400 - $500 on eBay.

I noticed my 8100 vibrate is weak, at least compared to a Motorola or Nokia.

It is midnight blue. Hard to tell unless you put up against something black.

It is beautiful!

Mine has a softer vibrate than 8300.

My T-Mo 8120 is a joke compared to my 8100, which in turn was weaker than any other phone I have ever owned..... Are T-Mo 8120 owners finding this the norm?? Not sure if I should have it exchanged or might consider reverting back to my 8100. Missing calls left and right.

I've noticed the exact same thing. I carry mine in my pocket and feel it maybe 40% of the time. I'm considering a holster just so I can wear it on my hip bones and feel the vibrations (BB style, not Marky Mark style). I'm OK with it though because the 8120 is an awesome phone besides this one annoyance.
