I'm like you I switch phone so quick the outgoing one looks like new so I bet my boss I would keep my last phone for 1 year and I got down to the last 2 months and well I moved to AT&T and we called it a wash. She bought my old phone so technically I didn't lose.

So I put a new skin on my purple-berry (lol, a best skin ever) . It is kinda sad though, because they don't have sections to cover the painted parts which were previously rubberized, so there's nothing to protect the corners. Sadly, in a moment of madness I dropped my newly painted blackberry on the tile kitchen floor it hit the corner pretty hard. It was like when you paint your nails and they aren't totally dry yet, and you hit them on something, and the paint wrinkles a little. I don't think anyone would ever notice it because its so subtle, but I look at it and frown every day.

I opted to ship it for overnight delivery both ways so it gets in quickly and back to me quickly. Lucky for me I can ship out via using our corp UPS discount which makes it cheaper than the USPS. Based on luckykelleyk turn around time it was about 3 weeks ARO before it was returned so I am hoping.

Is anyone else doing this or are others waiting to see what it looks like on the different units?

actually it was 4 weeks I didn't count the week that it took for them to receive it. They had it there 4 entire weeks. Hopefully you will have more luck than I did, but don't set yourself up for disappointment.

it really depends on, what company you use to ship it, where you live, and how fast you want it to get there. Priority mail would be cheapest (I think), if you do a flat rate box. I used ups so insurance is 1 dollar for every hundred dollars (more than 100)

That's too bad... I can't believe no one makes a skin that covers the sides. Colorware should make special ones for their products. I have one of those clear hard cases and it just feels so bulky to me.

Also, I found "colorwared" blackberries on ebay. Looks like the same company but really high priced:

Blackberry CURVE 8310 UNLOCKED ATT CUSTOM VELVET GSM! - eBay (item 310021768638 end time Mar-09-08 14:16:27 PDT)

They have a handful of colors.

That picture that they use on the auction is directly from colorware's website. They are indirectly saying that they just order the phone from colorware for you. I don't know how the people at colorware would feel if they knew about this... seems shady.

Well I shipped mine out on Wednesday UPS Next Day and I received an email on Thursday afternoon about an hour after UPS confirmed it had arrived saying they had received it and it was in the production. I also opted for next day back to me so while I am optimistic for the 3 week turn around I am realistic it may take 4. So either it comes back in time to cruisin with me or its waiting for me when I get back.

Ok I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it now. Now I just can't decide on a color. I'm leaning towards an all black or yellow?

well i found out that if something happened to my phone and i needed to turn it in to sprint to use my insurance i would need to have the original housing on it...kinda seems pointless for me to do it now...just too much hassle

Lucky for me AT&T doesn't offer insurance on any pda phone or decent high end phone. But then again who cares I just went for it.

I have a Curve 8310 and that is how the camera holes look on mine so there is no way that is a case over the phone is a custom painted phone.
