If you are wanting corporate email pushed to your handheld without a BES and with the personal cingular BIS plan. You need to login to your internet service www.cingular.com/blackberrystart and goto set up mail account. Next, you will enter your corporate email address, and pick that you use outlook to access your exchange email. Finally, it should ask you to download mail connector, which is a program that runs in the background on your desktop and pushes email to your BB.

Thank you. I will try this as well.

I'm on the site you recommended. It never asked me to download a mail connector. Also, I don't seem to be able to direct my gmail to the phone either.

Are you just forwarding your gmail? Just set it up in your gmail settings -> Forwarding and Pop. Use your Cingular email address as the forward-to, if that's what you're trying to accomplish.

Once you login to your BIS, you should have a place to set up email accounts. You enter your gmail address and your password. That's it. It does the rest. In that same place you add abother account. Put in your corp email address and password, and it should ask you how you access your corp email. Once you pick "outlook connected to a network" it should download mail connector on your work pc

If mail connector relies on your office PC being up and running, I'd seriously recommend checking into other mail delivery options. You'll find them all detailed at blackberryfaq.com.

I finally (I think) have all the email issues resolved. Another question. There doesn't seem to be a way to Reconcile messages using BIS. It's greyed out on the desktop. Is there a way, while hooked up to my computer that if I delete an email in my Outlook, it deletes on my BB or do I have to go through them all again?

For Example:
I'm on Cingular and BIS. In the Desktop Manager ver. 4.2 there are 5 icons.
1) Application Loader
2) Backup and Restore
3) Media Manager
4) Switch Device Wizard
5) Synchronize

Your question was: Seems to be working fine, however, the Configure Reconciliation is greyed out.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Where does this dialog appear, on the BlackBerry? or somewhere else?

What comes to mind at the moment is on the BB click the messages icon, then click the track wheel again for the pop up menu and at the bottom there is a choice called "Reconcile Now". What that does is to reconcile the email between the handheld and the computer. And in this particular case it would not be greyed out, even if your BB was not connected to your computer.

Give me a description of where you are seeing this message.

I went to messages on the BB while it was hooked up and when it wasn't. Hit the track ball, went to full menu and saw the "Reconcile Now". Tried it hooked up and not. Nothing seemed to happen.

With respect to the description, on the desktop software, under Synchronize the first choice is: Reconcile messages (it is greyed out)

Under configuration, the first choice "is configure reconciliation" (it is greyed out).

Accordingly, everything I receive on my computer (all 4 email addresses) are duplicated and I have to go through all to delete on both the BB and the computer. Hopefully, I've made this clear enough to understand.

Perhaps a good way would be for me to describe how mine works. I will give an example using just one of the five different email accounts I have on my BB.

When I'm using the BB. I read a mail message. After reading it I click on it and I am presented with a dialog box of three choices. 1) Delete from mailbox and handheld. 2) Delete from handheld only. 3) Cancel

Now, then I return to my computer if I read the mail, it appears as read on the computer, if I delete if from the handheld it stays on the computer and a copy on the server. However when working on the computer and deleting mail, it's not deleted off the BB. That's a feature that is being worked on and will be available in the not too distant future.

The easy way to delete the multiple emails, txt, etc off the BB, is to scroll to the very top of the list and highlight the date just above the most current message, at that point you are presented with a choice: Delete Prior. This will delete everything in your message inbox on the BB very quickly.

By using a BIS account (which you are), you cannot reconcile from the desktop, which is why Reconcile is greyed-out. We've already covered this much in this thread. Only if you're setup with a BES account (hosted/employer/etc), can Reconcile be used at the desktop. Forget about this being an issue.

When you first click to delete an email from your blackberry, if you choose Delete from Handheld & Mailbox, your email is automatically reconciled with your Cingular Inbox (the one you have to log into). If you choose Delete from Handheld Only, your email remains in your Cingular Inbox until you manually Reconcile ( Messages -> *click* -> Reconcile Now ).

On a BIS account, Reconcile has nothing to do with Outlook, only your carrier's Inbox.
