Unfortunately you have to have data plan to use the MSN messenger. A workaround is to use web-based MSN messenger with wifi, but it is not exactly the same.

Go to Options ==> Language, change the voice dialing language to UK English. Try voice dialing. Then change it back to US English. The phone book will be rescanned and it should work after that.
