A (Fairly) Objective 9700 Review

I got my BlackBerry 9700 a little over 12 hours ago. I've been playing with it all day, seeing what it can and can't do. Prior to owning the 9700, I've extensively used the 8900, 88xx, 87xx, and...

They do. That's what I just did today with my 9700. I have heard of T-Mobile stores/employees not letting customers do this, though. Your best bet is to shop around until you find a store that lets...

I don't doubt that 3G needs to be improved upon. No doubt battery life is poor but that, as was pointed out, can most likely be fixed on the firmware side rather than the hardware side. Maybe 3G can...

If the "Curve 2.0" was supposed to be corporate, it would come in a non-camera version, not with a higher resolution camera than the Bold.

Take what BGR says with a grain of salt, something tells...

Silversmok3, I wish you luck in selling Curves but I think after the initial hype dies down and more 3G smartphones inevitably come to market, they'll be one of the slower selling models. The only...

I'm one of those crazy people that wants everything in my BlackBerry. My wish list is...

1) WiFi with UMA
2) A-GPS without a Verizon-like lockdown
3) 3G (maybe even a multi-band one so it works...

T-Mobile doesn't need a 3G phone? Are you out of your mind? They need a 3G phone now more than ever, which is why they launched (read: rushed) the G1. Many major metro areas have T-Mo 3G right now....

Some of you are missing the point. Maybe if you get a new phone every 3 months, the Javelin would be fine. I get phones to keep for a year or two. T-Mobile's 3G will be in virtually every metro area...

Oh, right, good point. That'll really put people over the edge (no pun intended), a slightly nicer trackball.

Surprisingly enough, I never had a problem with the 8800's track ball. I clean it...

Why Buy a Javelin?

I have a BB8800 on T-Mobile right now. My phone's getting a bit long in tooth as I got my 8800 the week it hit T-Mo stores, but it still works reasonably well. If all the rumors are true that the...

Also, the caller ID does not always work. Half the time I just get just the number and not the name, even if they are in my phone book.

I gotta admit, it's an improvement over previous versions of 4.5, but it's still not ready for prime time. It's pretty clear what RIM is doing. They're using small markets to test out what is...

Mixed Feelings

I do believe the versions of 4.5 we're seeing are still *essentially* beta versions, albeit late betas. A couple issues I've been having with every 4.5 release

1. I occasionally get a...

Hospitals

Just about every hospital or medical employee should (in theory) be camera-phone-free due to HIPPA. So yes, there is a market for camera-less phones.
