Default So what do put on your big one?

Please Login to Remove!

So we can now have 4GB or more of flash in our later BB's.

What do people actually use all that space for, other than the warm fuzzy feeling that it's there just because it *can* be put there?

A. As a generic USB drive using mass stoage mode, for data that can't actually be used by the BB iteself? It's a shame that the BB can't encrypt/decrypt data transfered over mass storage mode, or it would be an encrypted USB drive (quite useful).

B. For photos (but that's a LOT of 2Mpx photos...)?

C. For music (but what does using a BB as a MP3 player do for its battery life, and how good is the media player for managing a LOT of tracks)?

D. Something else?

I have not given a lot of thought as to what to put on my 4gb card, but I have put a few pictures and videos of the new baby girl, 5 months. People were asking to see pictures and this is a perfect way to always have new ones to show. But I am also wondering what others are using their cards for.

Sure, I can see uses for a card - but a 4GB one really is quite big, these days anyway. 2GB ones are really inexpensive now. So I was just wondering what the attraction is for even bigger capacity in a BB.

I use mine for taking files home to work on, or for working on when I travel. I also take software updates, patches, etc. when I'm working out of town in another office, so I don't have to re-download. I can just slap them on the local server and off I go.

Same here. When I do upgrade I probably will have some music and pictures, and maybe some Microsoft Word and Excel documents. I have hoping that Documents to Go from DataViz will be available when I am ready to upgrade.

I put music, movies, shows from the Tivo, work files that I email frequently and pictures from the camera. It is not hard to fill up the 2GB that's for sure.

Media player manages tracks just fine IMO. Battery life I haven't really tested that out, I keep my device charged as much as possible.

Default On my 4 gb card

I have music for my commute. It is so great to use just one device for email, phone, and MP3s! I have a new titanium Curve and I LOVE it. Battery life does not seem to be affected much by playing music.

I agree with Nels...I don't notice much of a hit at all on battery life when using the BB to play music. I am not a heavy talker though...mainly data usage here, so I am sure that comes into play as well.
