Default Advice Re: Software Changes

Please Login to Remove!

I am new to the BB community, and have found lots of useful information here in just the past 10 days. I searched on the topic, but think my request regards advice or perhaps the collective wisdom of 8700c users. My BB handheld software version is 4.1 and my Desktop Manager version is 4.2.0.10. I have the impression from reading various post that upgrading the BB unit software might be slightly chancy...loss of features etc. I guess I wonder if I should get the 4.2 software into the BB, and the SP2 software into the desktop. Everything seems fine now, but I always wonder if a software change might improve the BB. I own a BMW 5-Series, and software changes in the car frequently result in loss of function in one area when another area receives improvement. I guess I'm a little gun-shy with the BB.

It's exactly the same way with the BB and 4.2. If you have everything you need then you won't see any "improvement." If you are looking for a specific feature or are having a problem, then an OS upgrade may be the way to go. Otherwise, I'd leave it as is.
