1. You cannot remove the clicking sound of the camera "shutter", it is there to stay.
There are some tricks as to dialing a number, and taking the picture then.

2. You cannot silence the DTMF tones. You can dial silently by using your address book or typing a new number in a text or email first, and dialing from that link.

I know you'd like to, it appears, but those are not options. There is a GREAT amount of discussion on both topis on this forum if you check around.

Good luck.

Precision 80:

Here's my work around for silencing the phone when holding 1 for VM.

I found if you select the "Quiet" Mode on your phone, it does the trick.

Let me know if that works for you.

Cheers.

Thank you. Too bad it does not work to the camera shutter sound. That is the one, and only one thing a hate about the phone. And the legal argument is baloney . There are lots of new phones out there that allow the user to disable camera sound.

I've never heard of a legal argument, does RIM make one about that issue?

Final note:

The dial sound won't occur if you select "Mute" for the volume setting on the phone option under advanced/edit.

We'll beat this bugger into submission. Keep your spirits up!
