Default SureType Double Words--Post yours here

Please Login to Remove!

My biggest complaint with SureType is the double words. Words that have the same key combination. I like to go holding a lot and that really messes me up. I mean I like to go GOLFING a lot. Same key combo, more than one word. And you can be sure that SureType usually won't pick the word you really wanted by default. Here's a short list that I've come up with. If you have any others, I'd love to see them.

Best beat nest neat brat bray

Alive slice Alice

Golf hold gold

Day fat

Need need bred nerd

Any ant

Been using the phone 2 weeks and really like it. Does a lot of things well, but this sure type thing is inferior to the Razr word predict method. I do like the keypad better, but what I can't understand it will spell the first 5 letters of a 10 letter word, and not complete it? Or am I doin something wrong? I'm thinking after the T in substance it should finish it out for ya or give a couple of choices, the Razr does. I mean it acts like it wants to, but no, it makes a guy go all the way to the end before you can hit space.

Go figure.

I find this extremely annoying too.

To correct this particular combination, I created a separate entry for 'se' to spell out 'see'.

I think this is the best solution overall.

I believe there is already an autotext entry for changing ar to are. So, how do you keep them separate. I don't think there is a good solution to those two words.

You must be right about that one. I had changed the 'ar' to 'Arthur'...my first name.

Another option would be to make 'c' equal to 'see'.

Didn't take me too long actually...here's my 'custom' list of additions:

btwn = between
itz = it's
gy = guy
hel = he'll
il = I'll
pls = please
thx = thanks
tu = Thank You

mor = morning
aft = afternoon
eve = evening
tmrw = tomorrow

appt = Appt w/%B
brk = Breakfast w/%B
dnr = Dinner w/%B
lnc = Lunch w/%B

Ok, some may not have been mine, I can't remember if some of the contractions were there already.

I hope these can help others that have had the same frustrations I've had...
