Default Another way to get Enterprise email?

Please Login to Remove!

There's some serious BS where my Boss's Boss won't sign a waiver if "anything should go wrong" if company email is pushed to my own personal BlackBerry as opposed to the few "Big Wigs" that have them "officially". Knowing it's a crock of youknowwhat and that my bosses are too tight to change their plans to get Blackberries, I end up trying to find another way to get my work email sent to me so that I can be more productive as well as justifying my BES contract.

Is there another way?
I have tried pushing it through with that BB "mail connector", but I must not be doing something right. BB says it is best to install Mail Connector on to a PC that is "always on". Being an admin I installed it on a Production server and clueless from what to from there.

Some facts:
We can get email Outlook Web Access, but notice that Downtown ( who runs the mail servers ) have us used "https", a secured url.

And my immediate Boss had given me the nod to find another way around if I could to let me get my work email on my BB.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks in adavance.

What you could try is set a rule in your e-mail program to automatically forward any mail to your BlackBerry. That way you would not HAVE to have a BES setup. As long as your IT group allows external forwarding you should be fine.

You can get your mail via OWA on a bb.

Does this work well? I am thinking about getting an 8830 and testing it for a week or two before I pull the trigger at my Exchange host to add BB support - another $15/mo.

Since you are an admin you could set up your own free, single license of BES Express (BESX). Read up on it. Since you are an admin, it would be that fundamentally different than the redirector (both are programs that will redirect mail), it's just BESX give you more.

Since you aren't the "email admin," running BESX may not work since you might not be able to set up email integration or permissioms like you need.
