i recently bought this blackberry off of ebay and the phone was reset. when i turned it on, it needed a password to get into any part of the phone, i cant get to menu or anything. after calling customer service, they sent the wrong 'password' code thing, and now im on my 5/5 try. isnt there a way to just reset the phone? i cant get ahold of the ebay member who sold it to me, and am very unfamiliar with anyone who knows anything about blackberry's, what should i do?

I believe that after the failed attempts it will erase the data on the device then you can use JL_cmdr to wipe the HS and then reload the OS.

Don't trust me...as I read here once before, "wait a little bit and someone MUCH smarter than me will be along shortly."

Don't know what the "wrong password code thing" is but if you enter the wrong password for the last time it wipes the data only, leaving the OS. You shouldn't need JL_Cmder after it resets.

Even after doing all that won't the password still remain? If I recall correctly it does.

Wirelessly posted (BB 8860: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

The password requirement may still remain but you'll be able to enter a new one.
