Please Login to Remove!

I put my 8300 in the roof of my car one day while i was getting some fast food and I got in my car and drove off!!!! I totally forgot the fact that it was on my hood and it hit the ground so hard that the battery door for my 8300 is destroyed.Where can I get one I've been looking every where and no one seems to have clue of how to get it. What ARE MY OPTIONS?? :cry

Personally, the first thing I'd do is look for a replacement battery cover on eBay. Failing that, I'd look at an extended battery and cover. If that doesn't pan out, I'd get one of those hardcase snap-on shell things (I don't think I'd want a rubber skin thing without a battery cover) and pad the battery a bit before putting the shell on. Or I'd see if I could find a busted up Curve for parts that had an intact cover.

Or I'd ask one of the people here that might have a Curve and also an 8800/8830 and find out if the battery covers are interchangeable -- if so, that would open up a lot more options. I realize the overall housings are not the same but there is a small chance the battery cover might not be that different.

Keep an eye out here....

BBrepairShop.com - Blackberry repair parts for BlackBerry 957, 6230, 7230, 857, 6210, 6280, 7290, 6710, 7280, 7250, 7520,7510 and 6510

Shouldn't be too long before they have parts for the 8300.

Your experience with the 8800 is specifically why I just bought the 8703e. I have already dropped the thing and like most "business" model BB's, they just end up scratched up but still work great!!

If all else fails, trade it in for a 8703! or 8700 or w/e

Blackberry parts in general are expensive and it's even more so for newer models (like the OP's 8300). Unless you can find a deal on ebay.

This is why you need to keep your BB in a holster or in your pocket when you're not using it when you're on the go. I've never heard this one before. Ouch! Just hope it's still working ok!

You're better off checking e-bay or perhaps the buy/sell section of this Forum. I know of a few sites that sell the OEM replacement case, but I do not see any selling the backdoor battery cover, just the front face plates with lens.

Good luck on your hunt. Sucks to hear what happened. Invest in a case or keep it in a holster on you. Things could have been worst, you could have lost the phone all together.
