Default Single-key-shortcut to change profile

Please Login to Remove!

Changing a profile needs many steps:

1 Navigating to start page
2 Open profile section (by "P")
3 Scrolling to the profile you want to choose
4 "Space"

That are three steps to much.

Do you know a way how to create a shortcut to change, e.g. to the profile "vibration" with one single step from every context (without navigating to the start page)?

Thanks.

I have a specific 'Keith' profile I created for myself. If I press and hold the # key from the start page, the profile is switched to 'Vibrate'. If I press and hold the # key again, it switches back to the 'Keith' profile. This is on a Pearl, v4.2. Dunno if this helps

If you have dial from home screen off, you can hit "F" to get into the profile menu.

Ompul is in Germany, it is another key under that language.
But his gripe is having to go through three steps before he can hit profile.

Ompul, there is not another way on your model. You will either need to upgrade your BB or get used to the BlackBerry you have. It is not a treo or just any phone. There will be features, I am sure, you will appreciate on this over the past devices you have used.

I already appreciate many parts of the "user experience" after my few days using my BB.
My special interest in technology is usability, specially, efficient ways of usage.
There are already many nice short ways for typical tasks.
That's the reason why I wonder about the fact, that no more powerful ways of customization for own shortcuts exist.

Well, I have to accept it. For this ;) thread I end with the heresy.

How nice it would be, if BBs operating system would be FreeOpenSource Software.

As JSanders eluded to on the newer Blackberrys you can assign profiles to a convenience key.

BB Operating System open source? Not likely!
