Question OK, let me get this straight... (VZW 8830 issues)

Please Login to Remove!

So the fact that I've experienced terrible background noise and an echo on my own voice on three different 8830s (from three different stores, shipments, etc.) is just dumb luck, right?

Please tell me that there are people out there with this beautiful device that are NOT experiencing these problems?

I need some hope here...

Knocking on Wood !!! So far no problems reported. Nice call clarity and no echo (which I had on my Sprint Moto Q).

No problems at all, except when I press in on the trackball the screen will ripple. I work in a huge cement block building and never could get reception with any phone I owned(the last was a 700w P.O.S.)Now the 8830 is so clear in there I have to always turn it down! So far I think it's a great device!

On ocassion I experience an echo for the duration of a call, then it goes away for a while. However, for the most part, I'm still a satisfied customer.

I couldnt be happier. No problem with phone and if you take "off" wireless update on calendar via BB and then put in back "on" it syncs with desktop.

I've gotten an echo once or twice...but I also got them on my Treo 600, 650, 700, and my RAZR. It goes with the territory of using a cell phone...sometimes the quality isn't 100%.

Had this issue on two seperate 8830's.....so I finally just got my money back and returned to my 8703e. The background noise was the worst complaint. In fact, I even had someone call me from my BB (I had their phone) and gave it to the Verizon folks in the store so they could hear what it sounded like. They were pretty amazed at how much background noise it picked up.

Still missing the design though, and considering going to another Verizon store in hopes of getting a 'working' phone.

Echo is usually a product of the network/tower, not the handheld device.

I had the same problems with 2 devices and finally had to go back to my regular cell phone, it was terrible. I've heard of lots of people with the same issues. I hope they resolve the problem because I would love to try it again if they do.

I have never had the echo problem. Though I get a few complaints about background noises. It is kind of annoying if I am outside or somewhere there is a bit of noise, they think I am at a concert.
