Default Worse coverage after switching to 8800?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a user who I recently upgraded from a Cingular 8700 to a Cingular 8800. He likes the device, but says it has much worse service at house house then the 8700 did.

When he was on the 8700 he was on the old 'blue' rate plans (had the 8700 for a couple of years). To upgrade to the 8800, we changed him to the new AT&T/Cingular/Whatevertheycallthemselvesnow plans.

He said the device shows the network of 'AT&T', which I believe it's supposed to now, right?

Any ideas why the coverage would be so bad with new device, when he's using it in the same place as the old device?

Signal has been consistent with 7290, 8700, and 8800 at my place. I'm running the ATT version of the handheld software which is 4.2.1.79.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

I wonder if it's the device.... Will have to call Cingular to see what they say.
