Default voice mail showing up in email list

Please Login to Remove!

When I get a voice mail it shows up in my "mail" area on my blackberry. How can I make it so it does not show up there?

Thanks

The voice mail alert is an SMS message from Verizon's network.
You'd need to be running handheld OS version 4.2 to separate SMS from e-mail messages. Unfortunately, there is no 4.2 handheld OS for the 8703e, so you're basically out of luck on this one.

Messages > Options > General Options > SMS and Email Inboxes = Separate.

I suppose you can still use filters to not make the message show up.

I don't think it's possible to apply filters to SMS messages.

...or call the carrier to have SMS voicemail notifications disabled if they're not wanted at all.

No such luck. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes for Verion to research this they said it could not be done (they don't know how) and that it's impossible.

Filters did not work either, it does not filter out SMS.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

So, how can we stop the email notification? I just tried the "separate" fix, but all it did was give me an SMS notification of a voice mail, rather than an email notification of a voice mail. That doesn't solve anything....

You can install 4.2 on an 8703e from VZW, I am running 4.2, it is available on VZW's web site. I have my VM separated from my mail.
