You can go under "general options" in the phone section and change "dial from home screen" to no. Then you can hit the "k" while on home screen to keylock

I'm using the dimension theme, this does not work. Still asks me to assign a speed dial to k at the home or any screen.

I think you're pressing the K too long. If you have dialing from home screen set to No, you just short-press K and it'll lock. I'm using the Dimension theme and it works fine for me.

dont over complicate a simple fix,
simply hit "alt" then "return key" the phone will lock, not one key but two isnt that difficult......

Default Easy way to lock keyboard is to put BB in Standby mode

Just push and hold top button

Even easier option is to set preferences so that it auto locks when put in the holster!

There's no holster for the Curve yet - am I missing something?

What they said! This simply puts it into standby- saving battery and making an easy "wake up" with one button push. No key combos to fiddle with while driving etc..
