Default Calendar now syncing correctly!

Please Login to Remove!

I have NO idea why, but as of a few minutes ago, my calendar is syncing correctly! Calendar items created on my BB are now syncing to Outlook 2003. Calendar options no show the correct number of entries instead of "0".

I have made NO updates. My desktop is as installed - 4.2.2.12 and my handheld is 4.2.2.66.

Was their an over the air update??

The ONE thing I did, which cant possibly have anything to do with it, was that I went into my handheld and changed my owners name. Went to sync to make sure it wouldnt cause a problem with BB Desktop Manager and suddenly everything synced. NO duplicates on Outlook or my BB.

Strange...

BTW - I got my 8830 4 days ago and had the same issues everyone was having on outlook - duplicate contacts, "0" entries, no updating from handheld created appointments to desktop.

j8830:

Can you please confirm that you are not using Blackberry Enterprise Server and just using Blackberry Internet Server, i.e. you are not linked with your email through your firm's system? I am using Blackberry Internet Server and the loading of the new verizon desktop software did not solve the calendar problem.

I updated the software from verizon's website, wiped the data from my blackberry and performed a new sync via the usb cable and still see no data entries on the calendar portion of the bb when looking in the backup option in the desktop software.

I am absolutely not using BES. No firm - just a single user through verizon (I'm a teacher and probably the only BB user at our school!). Again - not sure what could have happened as I did not update ANY software - just used what was supplied on the CD.

No need to update software. Just go to Verizon BIS site and send yourself new service books. Fixes the calendar sync/entry number problem as well as adds several new email features.

That must have been it. I resent service books twice when I had an icon issue with one of my email accounts!

That seems to have fixed it for me too! Resent Service Books from the BIS site, soft reset the 8830, and now my BB syncs up with Outlook 2007 properly and the calendar app no longer shows 0 entries. Suhweet! Thanks for posting the fix! Love this BB.

Same seems to have happened for earlier today afer I sent the service books and pulled the battery. The number of entries came up in the calendar and calendar synced properly with my laptop. I will have to see if it also works with my desktop on Monday. I made no changes to the handheld software or the desktop software.
8830 on BIS.

Default doesn't fully work

I did the same thing and sent the service books. My calendar showed 317 entries and I was thrilled. I did a sync with outlookand it told me 317 were going to be added to outlook.I then checked Outlook but only a few were showing. So I then tried to sync again and this time it told me 309 items will be deleted from outlook. I accepted, and now the handheld only shows 8 items. All my calendar entries are still there on the handheld. Anyone else actually try a sync after their entries showed as being there?

Yes! Mine works now as well with the new service books! So thrilled!

In response to the previous poster, you may want to check to see if you have your sync configured to only sync a specific date range or future items. Also, if you look at the log file it may reveal what's happening.

Syncing seems to work perfectly for me now - have added and deleted from both the desktop side as well as the BB side and things work perfectly!
