So far, I love it! I haven't had a chance to use alot but I think the trackball feels better than the O2 that I have. The trackball seems a little more responsive and rolls easier.

The phone is at&t branded to the hilt in the OS. at&t music, at&t mall...

The answer screen's a little different too. haven't seen how a photo contact comes up yet.

Well as far as the one I got today, it's only been 3 hours so I'm in the early stages. However that said, I've had an Unlocked O2 8300 for going on one month. This is the finest and best built BlackBerry I've ever owned.

To all of you that are getting one, you will not be disappointed.

I cannot begin to give a brief description of how fantastic it is. In fact, thats why I bought a second one. I believe in spares.....

I'm lovin` it!

Though I've been in a crazed need of an upgrade from my nextel 7520, so...my excitement has a lot to do with that as well.

Either way, it's awsome and I've no complaints as of yet. Doubtful that I will have any infact! I've only had one other blackberry.

I love the feel of it, love how thin it is, (don't like my damned moisturizer all over the screen!! hahah), cool sounds, great email and applications as always and haven't yet watched any video on it. Look foward to playing around for hours more!!!!!

Just out of curiousity, can you guys look and see where they were manufactured? I think so far all the O2s have been Canada.

Why would you get Cingular services on the Tmobile network. It's like expecting to get Tmobile Favs using Cingular. Not going to happen.

Anyways. I had an 8800. I like the 8300 better so far. I have a GPS puck that I carry in my briefcase. Which tends to work better than the 8800 gps anyways.

Feels very solid with no squeeking sides.

Oh and the A2DP Bluetooth support will finally let me use my Sony bluetooth stereo earbuds!

Just got mine an hour ago! Switched from t-mobile 2weeks ago and got the pearl, so I just went in and swapped them out. My favorite feature is full screen mode while watching video's. The videos show twice as big as pearl when in full screen mode. The keys feel awsome! So easy to type on! I like the ruberized sides, this thing feels bulletproof! I also like the aluminum finish keys next to trackball, looks very sharp. The camera display is so much better than the pearl, jeez. The trackball feels different on the 8300 it is closer to the body of the phone (does not stick out as much) feels a little nicer. But so far no disappointments.

Very solid feeling device. I love the size, and the keyboard feels good also. Moving from a 8703e to the curve I just need some time to get used to the trackball.

Any ideas of how to get a specific SMS folder on the curve? That is the only gripe I have.

this one feels much better.
Great improvements (ability to create folders, move stuff to the custom folders)
Keyboard is great too compared to the 8800

In your Options in Messages, you can change the way messages are handled. By default, I believe it's theme controlled. If you switch it, it should seperate the inboxes.

So far, so good. Transition fine from my 8700.
No problems with keyboard (Mr Fathumbs here).
Like features, size weight and price.
Only disappointment is that there was no clip or case included. I don't even mind buying my own, but none are in the stores.

... More as I explore

The back of the phone feels a little weird when typing emails. Not sure if there is a soft spot in the battery door but it seems to 'move' a little bit. Other than that the feature set is fantastic.

Anyone with the curve have internet access? If so, Is it any faster or different than the 8700c. I am on EDGE? And, can you download any video files from ESPN or FoxNews? Or, must you stick to just service provider video and music downloads?

Appreciate any replies!

Default Another Question

What do you lose or gain from an 8700c to the 8300 as far as profiles, contacts, calendar. I heard something was different with contacts, but could not find the post. I use my 8700c a lot for calendar and time management. Entry is quick and easy for adding things to do on the calendar. Hope this stays the same.

Thanks!

I have to echo all the comments on how tough this phone feels. It's definately much more rugged feeling than my pearl. Speakerphone volume is unbelievable.

It's interesting to see the padding on the inside of the back panel. I guess that was their solution to a business card cut in half! I can't wait for platform 2.4.0.39 (v4.2.2.89) to be released for download to I can see what other themes they have in store for us.

Just noticed the coolest thing...

When you press and hold, say 1 for voicemail, it makes this cool sounding matrix like speed dial noise. I don't think the 8800's or pearl's did this. Way cool. It doesn't take much to entertain me...ha ha
