Hi,

I have an 8100 pearl on vodafone, and use the Vodafone Today theme, that splits the front screen into various lists (email, text, calendar)

The problem is, that whenever I receive an Text / SMS, and it automatically opens up for me to read, whatever action I take, the preview information remains on the front screen under Text/Media messages. It is really frustrating and I have to connect to the PC to remove the SMS from the machine. It's like the header of the Text Message remains on the front screen irrespective of what action I take.

The only other way round it, is when I recieve an SMS, I turn the phone off and on (without opening the message) and then go into the message and read it, it then removes the notification and preview information from the front screen.

In other words, it is only when the SMS is automatically opened on screen that the problem occurs and the header remains on the screen).

Can anyone help me?

Used to happen to me occassionslly on the original Cingular OS. Always had to soft reset. Haven't seen it so far on the new Roger's OS.

Did you get any replies? I have the same problem with an SMS from Vodafone, which I cannot get rid of from the front screen. Using a 7130v on Vodafone in the UK.

Anybody have a cure for this - Any help appreciated.

What works for me is to re-open the message (not from the home screen where its "stuck" but go into the SMS messages screen where you can see all of your recent messages) and after you open it, click in the trackwheel, mark it as unread, close it, re-open it, mark it as read, and then close it again. That usually fixes it 99% of the time. Very rarely, I'll have to go back in and do it again or try another combination or mark read/unread but like I said, thats very rare.
