Thumbs up Blackberry Pearl Maximum Optimization - Fine Tune-up Tips.

Please Login to Remove!

we all have face the same problem sooner or later. the pearl gets slower and slower but here are some collected tips from this forum that should help you in improving the speed of your bberry pearl.
please feel free to add yours too.
regards

1) Delete the call logs - all at once:
Go to the Messages Folder >Click Menu >Select "View Folder" >Select "Phone Call Logs" >Highlight a date >Click Menu >Select "Delete Prior."

2) Delete your browser history:
. go into your browser
. press the menu key then options tab which brings up the following options A) browser
B) general
C) cache
. open the cache operations
. clear history, content cache, and the cookie cache.

I wonder if it is possible to remove the preinstalled wallpapers, ringtones etc. and keep only the ones you use/like?
has anyone succeed so far?

I can't believe that no one knows how it can be done. I do remember seeing a thread regarding this preinstalled content removal but I can't find it anymore...

in addition to all this....clear out your mms/sms ins/outs, missed calls, etc...

i also clear out alot of words that are auto-added into the custom words list. i found alot of them get input when i mispell, as well as first and last names of people i got email from, etc....

Thanks to pkittie i have found two ways of removing the pre-installed content:

The easy way - using the desktop manager:

The hard way - editing the .alx file:

It sure would be nice if there was one little program you could run to clean up everything at once.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.7196/1662; en; U; ssr))

I did all you have to do is just download either e-file or mobiexplorer, whichever works for you. I recommend efile from those money hungry assholes from dynoplex. Cuz its the only free thing they have......anyway....and find the picture or song in I think system, internal..yadayada, then press the menu key and click attributes. Uncheck' read only'..save..exit and finally go to the picture or whatever you clicked on and hit the ol' delete key!! And there you go...

Awesome...glad someone responded recently...got rid of the other languages, the sample vid, and the logs, and went from 19MB free to 26MB free. Sweet.

i love this little tool.
have add it to "Top Applications For Bberry Pearl" thread as it's fully worth it. and above all, it is free.
