Is it worth waiting for the 8820?

Read on other forums here for the 8300 series of practical advantages of WiFi.

however I'm still hoping for the 8820 but now that Tmobile is getting the 8800 released this monday with stores beginning to sell already I just gave up. Hopefully in 2nd week in May when I'm ready to upgrade from my not worked in Pearl I may just wait for the WiFi 8300 series model; then again i just don' know. I cannot stand the 8300 styling.

I agree - even though Wi-Fi would be nice - the 8300 styling is very toyish and not sleek like the 8800! So makes me wonder about the 9xxx serious

Its about the speed of Wi-Fi not the free cost. . . . Wi-Fi is limited so it would only be the chances of being near the connectivity that you would benefit from

Meh -- whatever. I just want GPS and a camera. Personally, the 83XX's so far look a lot like the 8700's to me. I wouldn't consider either "toyish" but I'm a function before form person anyway. A great looking device is useless to me if it doesn't work well which is why I've been using BB's in the first place. ;)

Well point taken - but I have a digital camera for "true" pictures . . . . well function is important to me - thats why I have a BB too. It still has to be somewhat aesthetically appealing. . . hence why I chose the 8800 versus the BlackJack which can just add a Blackberry plan. . . but yea

I always use the same argument ( I have my own digital camera) but people seem to be to attached to a camera on a phone. I wouldn’t be able to count on my fingers and toes all of the people I know who went out and got a new phone for the camera “feature” and never use it.

*shrugs*

I really look the look of the 8800 and I could pass on this next BB.

Take it for what it's worth but I just talked to a GM at Tmo whose waiting for the 8820 himself and he said that it won't be out until at least the end of may
