Default Alarm Clock Problems?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8703e (Verizon).

Has anyone had a problem with their BB's Alarm Clock?

For a few days, after waking up late, I found that my Alarm Clock wasn't going off. I tested it and set it for 7:28AM this morning, just to see if I was sleeping through it, but lo and behold 7:28AM came and went with no Alarm.

I "fixed" it by turning it off and taking out the battery and re-inserting it. Tested it again and the Alarm went off.

Has anyone else's Alarm Clock just stop working before? I turn off my BB all the time when I'm at work (as I don't get service where my desk is at). Did taking out the battery do some sort of reset?

I completely made sure everything was set correctly, I'm not crazy! :D

The last huge thing I downloaded were Ringtones I've created myself. I downloaded (then later on deleted) one game, but all those downloads were a good 4 or 5 months ago. I deleted some of the ringtones I created at least a month ago as well.

I'm not a hardcore BB user --yet-- the only things I've done with this device is, call, text (a lot), use the Internet. As far as downloads, other than ringtones and that one game, two pictures I've uploaded.

I think it started during the weekend, I just assumed I slept through the Alarm.

EDIT:

I didn't want to double post, so -- I found out that I have to select "Save" only using the Click Wheel on the side, the Mini "Enter" button on the Keyboard doesn't work. I mean, it works, it reacts whenever I press it, but the Click Wheel finalizes the Save, as the Enter button doesn't.

Have you checked the "active on weekends" setting?

Yes, SAVE is the option you need...

Where is the mini enter button on the 8703 keyboard?

I call it the enter button myself :D But it's the button with the Arrow that curves to the left, under the Del (Delete) button.

It's just weird because either way (click wheel or enter button) worked ever since I got it, but now only the Click wheel does accepts the save. Oh well, as long as it works, I guess...

I found that if I have my BlackBerry in silent or vibrate mode the alarm will not sound. It may be a basic thing, but you should check to see if there is a sound associated with the alarm and verify that the audio alerts are turned on.

That can't be right. The profiles are separate from the alarm. My alarm goes off no matter what profile I use.

After DST upgrade (at least for Verizon), I experienced the same problem, as with a few others:

Still no luck yet...

Mine doesnt go off every so often. I wake up late to see the dismiss snooze screen but it never made a sound. I have searched everywhere for a solution. This my be a deal breaker for me, a phone that is unreliable or unpredicable is no good for me. I dont like getting up late. Right now the alarms works 93 percent of the time. Its the 7 percent that is the issue. I have the latest os offered by cingular and it didnt address the alarm issue. My phone is always on the normal ringersetting and I never change it. Not to mention the the screen should turn on when the alarm sounds why this phone doesnt do that is a complete mystery.

Do you have it set for OFF on WEEKENDS, by any chance. I use my BB for my alarm and it has never failed me. My wife told me her alarm did not sound one day recently, and she had checked the turn the alarm off on weekends.

Likewise, if the screen is not lighting up, you have an issue and may need to return the device for a new one.

I missed my flight yesterday morning because my bb alarm didn't go off. Needless to say I was not very happy.

This is the first time it has ever happened. I just tested it again today and it is not going off. I will try the battery pull but that really makes the alarm clock useless for future use if it *might* go off in the mornings.
