Question 7100i and H700 Blue tooth

Please Login to Remove!

i picked up an H700 Headset and I paired it with my phone, it works if I dial the number on my phone and hit the green button, but if I try to push the call button on the headset and say the name it doesn't work,

Also how do you use the 2 way with the headset??

The manual I got with the headset doesn't have any information about this...

i didnt know the 7100i had a Voice dial feature???

the only way to use the DC feature with the H700 is to use the PTT button on the phone and speak into the headset

Jimbeaux is right... the 7100i does NOT have voice dialing. And I have the same bluetooth, the bluetooth feature of this phone is kind of a joke, you can basically talk on your phone handsfree... thats about it! You cannot transfer any images or data, or much else.
The DC works fine thru the headset, but at that point, you're already holding the phone to push the button so why not just make the call thru the phone?

The 7100i can have voice control but you have to install a program called Mobile Voice Control. You can find it at Welcome to NuanceVoiceControl

In addition to using a bluetooth headset you can also sync the 7100i to your computer using bluetooth instead of the cable. You would have to have bluetooth on your computer.

I've used the DC with the headset. Yes you have to press the DC button on the phone but at least people won't be hearing your whole conversation. The sound quality might be a little better too. I have a Plantronics 510 Voyager. It works great.

Hey walt, have you actually synced your 7100i via bluetooth? I have a bluetooth enabled laptop, it will pair with the phone, both laptop and phone recognize each other, but there are not even any options to transfer files, it knows its there, but that's about it. I repeat, it will not transfer any data or images. If i'm doing something wrong, let me know, it would be really nice to be able to get images to my phone via bluetooth, but i just don't think it works...

You have to go into your BB desktop manager and go to options. You'll see connection setting. Use the pull down list and select bluetooth. Once you make that change you just sync like you normally would. It should work just fine. It's faster with the cable though.

I also have the 510, ...it's a little bulky, but until someone comes out with a HS with better sound quality and loud volume as good as the 510, it will have to do.

It's true the 510 is big but it's so comfortable that sometimes I forget I have it on. You're right about the sound quality. The 510 is by far the best I've had and I've had a couple of Motorola's and a Jabbra.
