I have BB8100 Pearl; I did not buy internet service from T-Mobile. I connected BB to computer and it downloads calendar and other MS Outlook applications but not emails. Is there something I am doing wrong? Every time I try to configure it, through Setup Wizard – Email Set Up – I want to use work email account with a blackberry Enterprise Server and press next, it asks me, “Has your Blackberry Enterprise Server administrator provided you with an Enterprise Activation password?

I click yes and in password field I put my log on ID, that is what I use to log on net work and I do not have to put any other password for email separately. I am wondering, if I can get calendar entries why can I not get email downloaded. Also I have T-Mobile Dash I used that with the same computer and I did not have any problem with emails, it worked as regular PDA.

E-Mails can not be downloaded from the PC to the BlackBerry.
E-Mails are pushed to the BlackBerry. Without a BlackBerry Data Plan, you have no e-mail. Period.

Enterprise Activation is only for corporate BlackBerry customers.

Without a BlackBerry Data Plan, all you have on the device is voice and SMS text, and the ability to sync your calendar, notes, tasks and contacts. No e-mail.

One more quick question, my service plan does not offer me free messages. Is usin PIN costs me anything? is it same as other text messages?. and is it only between BBs?

Without a BlackBerry Data Plan, you can not send PIN messages. It is only between BlackBerrys.

I solved the issue of email from company server, by creating a rule that forwards all emails coming into my company email account to another email address (used gmail) that is on my pearl... this is a quick solution and you do not need to have enterprise activation... works great for me.
