Default Rogers Blackberry Pearl Questions :]

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, I recently purchased a Blackberry Pearl White 8100 locked to rogers, and I have a simple plan right now.. no data.. it says "Data connection refused" at the top.. which is good.

Now I was messing around with everything, and I found that it came with the Blackberry Maps application, which I can run and use, it'll load maps, allow me to search and everything.. now I thought you could only use that if you had a data plan, or was I wrong to assume that?

Am I being charged to use it? or is it free? I can't seem to find out, and Roger's can't seem to answer my question? Was curious if any of you had any information on it, I don't mind getting a data plan but I just don't need it right now.. any information you guys can shed would be great.. wealth of knowledge here ;]

My BB is also locked to Rogers, but I can't use the BB Maps ap. Before updating the OS I had the capability of seeing the maps and browsing manually, but search didn't work. After the OS upgrade, all I see are grids (no actual maps). Either way, search never worked for me.

I THINK I read somewhere that BB Maps needs a data plan in order to work. Can somebody confirm? If it doesn't, then I'll need to start a new thread as to why mine's not working!

You need a BB data plan for any internet/email data to work.

On rogers it uses data, I could never use it until I got the data plan. I really hope you are not being charged becasue they use alot of data and it can get really expensive without a plan.

be careful cause rogers has a pay per use plan that will empty your bank account when you get the bill. i say stop using it until the bill get in
if no charge then use it if no charges
