Question Blackberry Pearl + itunes...

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so me and my wife both got the Pearl phones a few weeks ago. I was wondering if there was a way to add music from our iTunes account which is both purchased and music that we downloaded from our cd's, onto our media cards. I have tried using the Media Manager for Blackberry, but it doesnt work. So I wonder if there is a setting of some sort that I can change in iTunes to do that. Thanks for you help!

i don't have a pearl but i doubt that the media player on the pearl will play music that you purchased through iTunes. it is a secured proprietary format. you would have to burn it to an audio cd and then rip to mp3 first.

Default iTunes and Pearl

Absolutely right. The iTunes purchased music won't play without removing the DRM, which can be done by burning to CD and then ripping it back to mp3 or aac, as was previously mentioned. As for the music that you ripped from cds, as long as it is in a compatible format (which it should be) you can play it on your pearl. However , unless I have missed something, you can't use iTunes to get music onto your pearl. If the Blackberry Desktop Manager is not working for you (in which case you may want to call your carrier, who will transfer you to RIM for troubleshooting) the pearl's memory card should mount as a hard drive (check under my computer in XP) in which case you can simply drag and drop your music files into the memory card.

Good luck!

This does work. You can create the CD from inside iTunes, and after the CD is done you can copy the files back into iTunes, saving them as MP3 files.

or buy serious music from a store that doesn't wrap their files in drm, the awesome BLEEP - High Quality Music Downloads from Bleep.com for example.
