I recenlty upgrade from Motrola regular phone to Pearl but did not find this useful feature in peral so far....

I want to forward calls on Pearl to my office number during daytime after seeing number? In mortola, after seeing any number, pressing ignore button forwards call to my office number. This is useful feature when I am in office. It looks that this new phone don't have Forward with IF Conditions?

How can be done in "PEARL"?

I believe you mean Pearl. There are call forwarding options. Go into the Phone, then Options and then Call Forwarding. I'm guessing you want to change the Busy setting.

I know that but that will forwad all calls after setting to forwarding, not the call which I ignore....

Correct. You're looking for a "No Answer Transfer" feature; calls that are ignored or not picked up are forwarded to a pre-set number.

firstly this poster didn't say he recently switched providers only phones.

And I have been with tmobile for years. and i am now on my third family of blackberry's with tmobile, but prior I had the first treo 180? I think and under call forwarding it had theses options with a different forwarding number for each.

1. forward all calls
2. forward when busy
3. forward when unavailable

I forget which 2 or 3 options but one of them would upon seeing who is calling via stored numbers in phone I could do nothing and it would eventually stop ringing and go to voicemail.

the other was set to another employees cell number so that if I pressed ignore call it would then forward to him.

So I wont claim for certain its not a network issue, I can just say that I previously had the ability using a different phone, now using blackberry's I don't, but wish I did.

.... and providers is same. If I move my SIM back to old cell phone I get

1. forward all calls
2. forward when busy
3. forward when unavailable

But same SIM in Pearl don't show these.

Thanks for inspiring me to dig a bit deeper, all along i had been thinking it was as i said in my previous post, the bottom two options. I was wrong.

If Busy
If No Answer
If Unreachable

The person had this exact format right mine was incorrect. Anyway I previously thought the bottom two options would work as you were looking for, but ultimately the network does view the bottom two options as exactly the same whether the phone rings out or you press the ignore feature. However if you add a number to the busy function, and you decline a call it will the roll to the number you requested.

However this still doesn’t resolve your problem of not having a forward while busy option.



So i am glad your post got me to fix something for myself that i had missed for quite some time.

I'm using:

Package Version: 4.2.0.88
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.2.0.71
Software Platform: 2.2.0.41
On a Tmo Pearl.

I never looked for, or used, these features before reading your post so I can't speak on any specific functionality. Wish I could be more helpful.

This is what you need to do.

Open phone list (press the send button)--hit menu, open options.

Open Call Forwarding

The phone will send and receive some and then show numbers for

If Busy (in other words: when you hit the red key)
If No Answer (in other words: when the phone rings for the specified time)
If Unreachable (in other words: when out of network, or phone is off)

by default all the numbers are set to your carrier's voicemail number.

Hit Menu, select "New Number" and add the numbers that you would like to forward your calls to.

Change the number under "If Busy" to the new number you added.

Escape and save.

When a phone call comes in, you can see the called ID and press the Red button to indicate that you are "busy".

The call will be forwarded to the number you specified.

I checked and it works well.

Hope this helps. I had not used this functionality before, but will now. I work at home and it is more convenient to talk on the home phone rather than the Pearl itself.

OS version: 4.2.0.67

In reading John's message again, the network considers the phone "busy" only when you press the ignore button (call waiting has to be enabled). In such a case, the this solution will work for the original problem.

Yes--you use your minutes anytime you are routed through the phone...

Nigletsyz seems right--I have not used the forwarding feature--so I am not sure.

Also, here is the excerpt from my used minutes report. I have 2 lilnes and it seems that I have 1000 conditional call forward minutes.

But does it cost extra to forward a call?

With my old old old nextel I used to forward my calls to my office when I was out of the coverage area. I got a bill at teh end of the month for over $75 in forwarded calls.

^^ no, as long as you don't exceed 500 forwarded minutes in your billing cycle. Some carriers (like t-mobile) give you a certain number of free forwarded minutes, however, most do not.
