I've read a ton about both. Has anyone compared the two? Which do you you guys prefer and for what reason? I'll be picking one or the other today and would rather not install both.

Install both and decide for yourself. Why trust what others like?

Yeah.....they're both great. I just like free more than something that costs.

I really like "clean" installs, so if I can keep from installing both then thats what I'll do.

When I got my BB last week I installed EVERYTHING I could think of on it. figured out what I liked and what I didn't (obviously forgot about pocketday/bbtoday) and then wiped it and the OS to do a clean install of just what I want.

I'm leaning towards pocketday, everyone seems to like it and its stability.

bought Pocketday, but I cannot see any incoming txt (sms messages). any reason for this? I have "listen for sms" and the firewall is disabled, anything else I need to setup?

fixed it....

I just installed EVERY language pack I could in desktop manager, now it works fine after a reboot (turn off, remove battery, battery back-in, and start up)

codywalker,

Reset your firewall, save it and pop the battery to reboot. Sometimes it takes a reboot to get this going.

Not everyone. I thought it was a very poorly laid out program (i.e. ugly) and the functionality wasn't much better than the canned RIM calendar.

I couldn't get bbtoday to work having tried it once or twice over the years. I've been using pocketday since it was available and it rarely gives me any problems.

I agree the pocketday display isn't nearly as pretty as what I had with my pocketpc, but it is far better, in my opinion, than the standard rim layout. Having one configurable screen where I can see my information in the order I want is a big plus. Configurable hotkeys that I can launch any program are another important feature. As for the calendar, try and copy an appointment from one date to another with the standard rim calendar, easy in pd.

Setting the color scheme, although tedious, makes the display better; while certainly not pretty it is quite functional. If crs could add an up/down screen single button...

Regards-Michael G.

PocketDay™ has never crashed my BB. BBToday has locked my device(s) up numerous times.

Tweak and tune with fonts and colors until you find the combination most appealing to you. It took me upwards of two weeks of reviewing color theory and testing different font and color combos until I found the one most appealing to me. And for the record: PocketDay: 3, BBToday: 0

I'm liking pocketday alot and considering buying the lists plug-in. I'm a big dork so not too much in to sports so scratch the sports plugin.

I LOVE the fact that everything is in one place with pocketday. There are a few things that are quircky for me. (ie: when I reply to a sms msg it's garbled). but overall is pretty good.

BBToday on occasion gives me a dns error for weather. I just update and weather comes back up. That's my only beef with it. I tried Pocketday and I was impressed, but BBToday does the same thing I was looking for, so I choose not to pay for Pocketday. Like I said before....they're both great apps.

Are either of these programs compatible with the Pearl?

Thanks,
Allan

I purchased PocketDay back when I had my 7100t. I never had a single problem with it then. I'm now using it on my 8700g with no issues. I have to cast my vote for Pocketday.
