I was wondering what company was the first to get the 8700's and what company was first to get the 8100's

I believe Cingular got the 8700 first and I know TMobile got the 8100 first.

ok cool i was trying to see if RIM just release to one company before they send it out to other...trying to figure out if cingular or tmobile is going to get 8800 first but i think it is going to be tmobile but i was trying to see if there was a pattern hehe

Nope. It all depends on which carrier pays up for the exclusive on a given model. TMO does seem to tend to go for the SureType devices and Cingular does seem to go for the full qwerty devices.

Just don't choose Verizon or Sprint if you want the latest models ASAP.

You can purchase and unlock a model from either carrier for use on the other (with regard to Cingular vs. TMO).
