Is there something I need to delete from the BB to make it stop doing that?

Oh yea, I removed him from the Blackberry Server.

now he is only on the web client.

I think he needs to do a Desktop manager reinstall and select Web client rather than BES option.

Aswell you will need to delete any Desktop service books off the handheld if he is off the BES

He has a Desktop Redirector service book now, guarnteed.

thanks guys. I reinstalled the desktop software yesterday and it helped, but last night he did get another etp.dat messgage.

today I will try to find and remove the desktop redirector service books.

You need to uninstall the desktop manager, go to the user login in windows explorer(what the person uses to log into their PC with - that folder) then go to Application Data, Research in Motion, and remove the Intellisync folder. Reboot and reinstall the desktop manager...should fix it.
