When I reboot my BES, I always get the following in the Application Log.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ExchangeConnector
Event Category: None
Event ID: 20000
Date: 11/20/2006
Time: 7:05:46 AM
User: N/A
Computer: HOSPICE2
Description:
[BIPPe] WARNING: Using default BIPP shared secret

Why do I receive this warning and should I be concerned?

Thank you in advance for your help in this issue.

No... It's really an informational message letting you know that the Exchange Connector (BES component) is using the default communication information. Nothing to be concerned about. Although I wish RIM would stop logging informational things as warnings.

Thank you for your response. I was hoping that was the case. When you see the word "Default" used in a message like this, it makes you think that everything is probably ok, but like you said, they then turn around and classify it as a Warning. Go figure!

It's the connection to the MDS connection and Collaboration services

Since you have them installed on the same machine secure connection shouldn't be an issue.
