I know this is a newbie question but, I have a BB 7510 from Nextel and i was wondering is there anyway to send SMS messages. I can receive them but cannot reply?

prior to buying the BB i used two way text messaging alot!

On the 7230 from T-Mobile under the compose option you can select SMS -- and when you get an SMS you can select REPLY. Not sure why it's not working for you. Any Nextel folks out there with this same problem, or any other suggestions?

On my BB the only options under compose are: Compose email, and Compose PIN? I have no idea what PIN is. Any help there is also appreciated. thanks and sorry for the newbie questions.

I can send but not receive unless the other person has email capability and it activated on their phone. It's really not SMS, you're emailing. Follow that thread and note all the different address types. You'll be able to send out all you want, but you won't get traditional SMS messages like you did with your phone. I know, bummer I went through the same thing.

Nextel recieves sms, but does not send sms. I had one for a week, did extensive work with their tech (they want to sell our unit some), but its not in their plans so send sms. We did not care about it I just answer since it came up and I had some limited info, (plus I stayed at a holiday in explress last night)

If you're going blackberry<->blackberry you can use the pin#... if that helps any...

Thanks for all the quick answers. I guess giving up sending SMS is a small price for all of these great other functions! :D
