I was wondering, what is the process? Do I just have to back up my calendar, address book, etc, on my pc and then transfer everything onto my pearl? I have lots of important contacts and appointments, so I would just like to confirm. Thanks in advace! I'm excited about the pearl!!

you should sync with your outlook, then resync it to your pearl.

You may also choose to use the backup & restore option in the desktop manager.

In addition you may want to download the latest ver 4.2 desktop manager directly from the RIM site.

I did so recently & it's a big improvement over the earlier version.

I already did a back up and restore. All I have to do is plug in the 8100 to my laptop and restore? Will 4.2 be compatible with 4.1?
