Default Blackberry maps not working

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have upgraded my 8100 to the new o2 os and all went well. I noticed in the install I could choose to install blackberry maps.

The app loaded but when I open it I just get black diagonal lines and a couple of blue dots, instead of maps on the screen.

I'm in the uk but I thought this would have worked anywhere.

I connect through MDS via a bes.

You have to press menu and search for a location.

you also need to have an outside GPS system for it to work. the 8100 dos not have a built in GPS feature so it need to be connected to a GPS reciever via bluetooth in order for it to give any sort of GPS service

True, but he can use the regular map feature, and get directions without a GPS receiver.

Default search

When I search for a location it finds nothing.

If i put in a US address e.g. times square, new york, it searches then i get 'a network error was encountered check your sever setings'

Even though i can browse to web pages through the Browser.

I also have a bluetooth GPS connected.

Default maps

Should I not get maps displayed for the US if I search for a US address?

Default Found the problem.

When i go to any internet based service i must go through our company proxy server.

This requires my domain username and password to let me through.

There is no setting on the software to enter a proxy server.

Your BT GPS won't be of any use outside US and Canada
RIM currently covers only these 2 countries
But you should be able to get a map for any US or Canada address (no GPS needed)

Default 8100 maps not working

I am trying to use my maps feature on my 8100. I just get diagonal lines and four dots. I used it before I upgraded my software and was working fine. Is there a setting I need to change or something?
