Default Nextel BB7520 Direct Connect Question.......

Please Login to Remove!

Is it just me, or does the BB 7520 direct connect has to be complete garbage? Also what can I do to keep the speakerphone from cracking or skipping around?

You must be in an area with a bad connection. I have the 7510 and 7520 and never have that problem unless I am in building or somewhere with bad reception.

Nothing but good experiences with DC here, as mentioned, probably a signal issue.

I agree I think the speaker on the BB7520 is better than most phone-only phones. Better clarity and less breaking up. For the direct connect I don't find it as user friendly as what my i730, but not to the point where I dislike it either. There are so many great things about the BB that wipe out any small negatives that come with it. First Blackberry and I don't ever plan on going away....

Cool

I love my 7520, even though the direct connect is a pain sometimes. My wife has a Nextel 730, and she says she gets "Busy in Data" about half the time when she tries to call me on the radio.

Other than that - and i can overlook that - GREAT!

We just need to get someone working on the ringtones they can do on charms... hmmm....

Default Disable DirectConnect [7520]

Is there anyway to disable DirectConnect via the handheld.

I don't just mean turning notification on/off, but actually disable the feature. I'm wondering if it will save battery life.

thanks for any comments.

go to options from the 'phone' menu... choose 'push to talk', then choose 'phone only = yes'... this will also change the NXTL to Nxtl showing Phone Only Mode...

Default Push to Talk: Phone Only

Eventhough this setting is under "push to talk" it actually disables all wireless communication as well (Email, Blackberry browser, Nextel Online).

I'm not sure if that is a failing in the option not being implemented correctly by Nextel, or whether it's just not the correct way to disable Push to Talk only.

thoughts/comments?
