All you have to do is hold the # sign and scroll down with "magic pearl ball" and select the items you want to delete. Then hit, DEL.

using the "full menu".. hit delete prior after scrolling all the way to the top. works everytime. I try to save anything of value first.

Just remember, "Delete Prior" is on the device only. For customers like the ones I support on US Cellular (BIS 1.8 with a 25MB mailbox limit), this function can cause problems if they don't then go to the web site and delete the messages.

There are two ways to do it, as said in here.

For a long time I used to use the "hold down the # key" method. That turned out to be cumbersome and slow if I had lots of e-mails.

The "Delete Prior" method is faster and easier.

In case the instructions were not clear.

Open mail folder.

Where you see the list of e-mails use the trackball to scroll upward until the Date and Time bar is highlighted.

Then press <menu> key which is the dotted key to the left of the trackball.

If there is a short menu highlight and press <full menu> with the trackball.

When Full Menu appears scroll to <Delete Prior>

Press <Delete Prior> with your trackball.

It will ask if you want to delete all prior items.

Scroll to "Yes" and press the trackball.

Note that this deletes ALL e-mails, so like the other post said, before doing this save any e-mails you don't want deleted.

it would be nice if there was a web-based management system for BIS customers to manage their mail/messages. This is one thing i really miss since switching from my sidekick.

You can go to any day header in the EMail list and Delete Prior from there. You don't have to delete everything. But you must be on the day header in the list, not a message.

T-Mo used to have web-based management. I remember when they announced they were getting rid of it.

I think they, as well as RIM, wanted to save space, .

It's been about a year now, so I don't see them bringing it back.

That's right, I forgot to mention that.

I guess that makes four ways he can delete mail: individually, a group, delete prior to a date and delete all prior.

The key with the # sign is also the shift key. You are essentially moving the cursor with the shift key held down which selects everything you move over just like on most computers (I know Macs do this and I think PCs do it as well...)
