Default Verizon 8703e Call Problems

Please Login to Remove!

I have had the 8703e for 24 hours. I have had two major problems:
- one out of every four or five outgoing calls gives me a fast busy and CALL FAILED error (in areas where my previous Verizon BB worked)
- several calls today went straight to voicemail (as if the phone was off) even though it was one with all the profile settings set up correctly for the phone to ring (the phone was not in use)

I am unable to sync so there was no software that was added to cause these reception problems.

I think it is the unit, and a new one is on its way. Just wondering if anyone else (especially coming from another BB) is experiencing these issues with their new device.

Thanks

Concur, I have had major signal problem on multiple units and one out of every 15 or 20 calls might not go through, and one out of every 15 data sessions won't start...

I have had mine since Friday and am very happy with call thoughput and call quality. I have had the 8700c and 7130 and feel my experience with the 8703 is better. Albeit I am still in the honeymoon phase, if I begin to notice something different I will post.

I have had mine since wednesday, well, thursday since I got a replacement unit sent to me since mine was fluctuating between 1XEV and 1X for no reason when it was just sitting in a stable place... the new one doesn't do that as much, but the voice quality is very impressive, I am really happy with the clarity and ease of use.. I went to an area just a bit ago that is out of my general work/home zone where the cell tower is the one that is fluctuating and the speed was amazingly fast and it did not fluctuate.. which makes me even more positive that it is the tower (which is what Verizon is now thinking)...

The only thing I have noticed, is that sometimes it will go from full signal, to half signal, then back to full signal very quickly which makes me suspect either the tower or the device has some quirks... all in all though, i am pretty pleased
