Default Body of emails missing - Anyone else?

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone received emails on their BB's where the body of the email is missing? That has happened several times to me in the last two days. If I read these emails from the IMAP server the body of the emails are there. It has only happened on some emails from this server.

Here's the specifics:
  • BIS 2.0 - Cingular
  • 7100G - Running 4.1
  • Accessing an Outlook Exchange server using IMAP (with SSL)
  • The emails have basic, standard HTML formatting. (These are emails that are generated by a program that I wrote. It's worked fine for months and I haven't made any changes!)

I have had the same issue this morning as well. Never happen before. I can see the email and who it's from with subject, but no body. I'm using Verizon with BIS 2.0 accessing Exchange with a 7130e.

I am also receiving some emails that arrive with a completely blank body from specific sources. On my laptop the same emails are fine. I spoke to RIM today and they think that the problem is my email messages database is damaged but I do not think that this is the reason because many other users have been having this problem since this Saturday! and everything else seem to be working fine !
I think that the problem is with BIS2.0 because when the same emails that arrive blank at the Blackberry using BIS2.0 when forwarded to the blackberry they arrive OK with the full body!

I have realized as well that above issue is also happening to me as well. I am T-mo user with a BB8700 running BES 4.1. I also am BB support agent as well and noticed this issue after RIM went thru recent routine system maintence. The messages I noticed affected was former messages that came thru as hyperlinks basicly (html pages etc).It is affecting only the html email pages.

Default Blank Email body

I spoke for about 2 hours yesterday with RIM support, and they say that this problem I am having is not supported by them as the emails are in HTML and they only support plain text emails !
RIM says that they have not received any complaints about this problem.
I suggest that everyone that has this problem call RIM support and complain so then maybe they will fix it sooner than later.

In order to speak directly to RIM if you have a Cingular, Verizon, ect account, one must go through Cingular, Verizon first, ask to speak to BlackBerry Support and Ask them to transfer the call to RIM support.

I've been on the phone with Cingular and RIM today. RIM has acknowledged this as an issue and is working on it. No estimate on when it will be resolved. I'll post here when my emails are being received correctly.

That's some progresss at least..........

I suggest everybody call your carrier's BlackBerry Support and make them call RIM while you are on the phone and then you can talk to RIM yourseld and explain & complain about the problem(EMAIL BLANK BODY). This is the only way to contact RIM, it must be through each of the individual carriers (Cingular, Verizon, etc)
The more people complain to RIM the faster they will resolve this really anoying issue !

Rsaverin,
Thank you for beginning this thread.

Texas,
I appreciate your information.

Until late yesterday, the carriers were a bit conscending, thinking we needed to merely adjust our filters through the BIS webpage.

At this stage, level 1 people are now stating that RIM is aware and is a 3 to 5day timeline.

I do have an escalated ticket with RIM at this time.

I believe threads with interaction like ours facilitate the process.

I know that the problem has not yet been resolved by RIM. More and more people are slowly noticing the existence of this problem that is very anoying because everythin was fine before July 29 !
Again I suggest everybody call your carrier's BlackBerry Support and make them call RIM while you are on the phone and then you can talk to RIM yourseld and explain & complain about the problem(EMAIL BLANK BODY). This is the only way to contact RIM, it must be through each of the individual carriers (Cingular, Verizon, etc)

I think RIM has resolved this issue. I get an automated email each morning which has been impacted by the missing email body issue. This morning the email and the email body was received correctly on my BlackBerry.
