Default How do I program my new cell phone number into my 7250?

Please Login to Remove!

I just had to get a new cell phone number because my number was advertised as the host hotel for the local drag queen show. Really bad luck, help me. Alltel just gave me a new number and I have to reprogram my phone with that new number. I can't take my phone, but Alltel already did the ESN change.

This isn't a step normally performed by a customer. Have you called them? Sometimes they'll walk you through it over the phone.

Usually if a company changes your phone number, they change the ESN/IMEI/SIM Card that is associated with that phone number in their own computers. You shouldn't have to do anything on your phone. If you change Blackberry devices, then you would have to manually update your PIN and IMEI on your BIS site.

This is a CDMA2000 device: there is no IMEI number nor a SIM card. And the phone number must be programmed manually into these devices.

Then there should still be an ESN number that the company needs to update in their computers. The phone number programmed into the phone should help with caller id and voicemail, but how much more can that programming do?

Unlike GSM devices, its necessary to program the telephone number into a CDMA2000 device. Without the programming, the device won't function--as the OP has noted with his device.
