Default Blackberry 7230 Question

Please Login to Remove!

I bought my sister and I both blackberry's. I got them both on ebay. I bought her a 7230 and I got the 7290. Does the 7230 actually havee messaging services like Aim,Msn,etc. I reallly cant find much about it.

T-mobile has the 7290 listed that it has Aim, Msn, and Yahoo but when I turn on my phone I dont see it anywhere. Do I have to activate the Blackberry plan with t-mobile first before they show up on our phones?

If hers doesnt have it I really need to resell it, cause she really wants like Aim and all that.

You do need a blackberry data plan through t-mobile to get the OZ suite that provides AOL, Yahoo, and other IM clients (i.e; the "included" IM access). However, search this forum-there are other options for getting IM access that are discussed here.

The good news is that you win the award for the most generic thread title yet!

Yeah pretty vague, you'd get more answers with a more descriptive title, but try searching first.

If your 7290 has been out for a while, you probably won't have the IM options. And I'm afraid that the 7230 will have the same problem.

Question at least tells you something i.e. it's not an observation or story, all of which should relate to a Blackberry. Then again with some of the Treo and Sidekick posts that we get on here, we can call it a draw.

But its vauge title did make us all look here just out of curiosity. And it does lead to thread hijacking simply because theres no title to follow. lol.

As for the 7230, if youv both got Bb you could use pin messages between each other, but if your still after aim there are programs that support the protocol such as VeriChat or IM+ and a few others which i think should work. Try a quick seatch for aim on here and im sure something will come up.
