Default TM voicemail icon - won't go away

Please Login to Remove!

I've got a 7100t that's been running just fine. But now T-mobile has a new voicemail alert system that involves a tiny icon at the top of the screen. You also get an alert that says you have (X) voicemail messages.

Well, this seemed to work ok the first few days, but now I've got this voice mail icon and it won't go away!

I do not have any messages saved, old or new in my voicemail. I do not have any messages of any kind on my phone anywhere. (Text or voice) I've gone into the BWC and deleted ALL the messaages that were on the server.

EVERYTHING IS EMPTY.

But I still have this icon sitting there.

Any thought on how to get this goofy thing to go away? It's been about an hour since I've listened to my VM and deleted them.

Thanks,

Denise

What does the icon look like?
Is is the envelope thingy or a little circle thingy?

Anyway try this:
1) open your messages
2) click the track wheel
3) scroll down to "view folder" and click track wheel
4) go through all those folders.
Chances are, there is something in there that didn't get opened up

That's the extent of my limited knowledge of this great device.
Good luck

It's the new t-mobile voicemail alert icon (looks like a "tape" icon or upside phone receiver). It tells you that you have a voice message waiting.

But I don't. My mail box is empty.

I have done a reset on the device. No luck.

I will keep looking through the folders...but so far, everything is empty.

Thanks,

Denise

I dont have a new icon- it would be nice if there was a VM icon! I have a new messages icon (envelope) and a missed calls icons (phone reciever with X).

what is ths new icon? I think you are confusing it with the missed calls icon, but I hope I am wrong!

Nope...I think that t-mobile only changed the voicemail notification in a select area. (I did see 3 other posts about it in a different thread and they described it just as I did - the little tape icon.) It's only an icon that means you have voicemail. It was changed about a week ago. We no longer get a text message.

It's now gone. I left my phone at 4:30 pm (still there was an icon, it had been about 4 hours). When I got home at 9:30 pm, the icon was gone, but I had an alert that said I had a new voicemail. (!!!!!) When I check my voicemail - I didn't have any messages.

Ya know, I don't care as long as it's gone. Maybe my email to t-mobile helped?? (Ha!)

Thanks for the help...if I do hear anything from t-mobile, I'll let you know in case someone else has this problem.

This is a somewhat common issue on almost all voice mail systems. Here's what happens:

You get a message - the voice mail system sends a notifcation to your phone that you have a message - the phone then displays the message icon

You retrieve the messsage - the voice mail system sends another notification to your phone that you have no message. This notification is only sent once.

If, for some reason, your phone does not get the "no messages" notification - it won't remove the icon.

Solution - log into voice-mail and leave yourself a message (or call yourself from another phone and leave a message). Once you go into voice mail and delete that new message the icon should go away.

I've had this problem on numerous work and cell phone voice mail systems.
