We're in the middle of changing our service provider from Nextel to Cingular. Early this afternoon all Cingular devices stopped receiving email and could not get an "EDGE" signal - it kept bouncing back and forth between "edge" and "GSM". No one who has a Nextel device had any problems. We're using BES v4.0 SP4 btw.
I called Cingular support to be told they would call me back. Is anyone else having problems with them today keeping an "EDGE" signal?
I have not had any trouble with my Cingular service.
Was it only for about 15 minutes or so?
This could be a complete shot in the dark, but they are having rolling blackouts here in the southwest, and every business (except hospitals and that kind of thing) have had to lose their power for about 15-25 minutes at different times. But if it has been an all day thing, then it had to be the network.

We have ~600 users on Cingular devices in our company. We have notices problems with maintaining a data connection on these devices in a few locations over the past couple of months. Particularly in Philly. Cingular has not admited to any problems but I believe it is due to their ongoing conversion of the former AT&T Blue network to the Cingular Orange network...
Have you seen their latest round of commercials. They claim to have the fewest dropped calls. Of course you can't be dropped if you can't call in the first place.
