I am using a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with 6.0 Bundle 1879 Software version (v6.0.0.448, Platform 6.6.0.124) with the BlackBerry Desktop Software Version 6.1.0.36 Released 7 Nov 2011 (Bundle 38) running on a Windows XP SP3 notebook computer. I use Outlook as my email, contact, calendar, notes client.

I have a strange problem - whenever I want to sync my BB with the desktop, I have to uninstall the desktop software and re-install the software; if I don't do this the BB Desktop Manager does not connect to my BB9700. I can access the BB media card through the My Computer; but the Desktop Manager does not connect! I have uninstalled and re-installed almost 4 times so far and synchronized it after every install; but the next time I try to sync, the desktop manager does not connect to the BB! Please help!

Was it working correctly before you did the OS upgrade?

My suggestion is to wipe the device and reinstall OS 5 and do a clean install of DM on your PC.

The 9700 will run much better under OS 5 anyway.
