Default AT&T microcell causing Torch 9800 to go into SOS

Please Login to Remove!

AT&T's engineers seem to be laying down on the job, and AT&T's customer service stinks. Perhaps BBF can help?

I got a microcell which worked fine for about 4 months. Then AT&T changed something - not sure what - and, for the last 5 months, the microcell no longer works. Every time I turn on the microcell and it connects to my phone, the phone immediately goes into SOS mode.

I've tried replacing the microcell, the phone, and the SIM cards. That leads me to believe it's a problem with the account. But they look at it from their end and everything appears fine (so they tell me). I've asked them to setup a new account for me and just transfer my number over to it. They refuse.

They've been giving me the run-around for the last 5 months. Not sure what else to try. (I even called my ISP today to see if they were blocking any ports that would cause a problem - they aren't.)

Have any of you seen this problem? This phone is effectively worthless to me as I can't use it in my home where I need it most. Thanks.

Turn it on???? your supposed to leave it on and at least start out in view of the sky so the GPS will load it's location. I have one and never have issues.

Also the DSL or cable connection must be good.

Yes, it worked for about 4 months. Then AT&T did something but I can't figure out what (and neither can they). The internet connection is fine, so that's not the problem.

When I leave it on, I can't get anything to the phone - no emails or calls. However, if I keep the phone on my window ledge, I can get 1 bar which is usually enough to get emails and see that calls are coming in.
