Default How to access digital keyboard?

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my Torch for about 3-4 months now or whenever they first came out...I got it because I liked the tactile keyboard. But, now I want to get comfortable using the digital keyboard. But, I cannot figure out how to access it now? Nothing in the user manual talks about toggling it on or off...Like if I reply to an email with the phone closed? Did I drag something down I cannot see now?

Use the trackball and highlight the bar thats between the speaker icon and the search icon. Press the BB menu key and you will see, "show keyboard". From here you can use as is or turn sideways to landscape view. To get rid of the keyboard, press the BB menu key and you will see, "hide keyboard". Highlight and press and the keyboard goes away...

I just went by the ATT store....the salesperson had the same problem as I did....she said she had heard the using the digital keyboard requires X-amount of memory and that maybe I needed to delete some messages and apps...so, I did that and now the keyboard shows up. It was grayed out before.

Wow, that's good to know info. I didn't think that would be an issue. Thanks again for this post.

Actually, that was NOT the issue...this is the issue...

i had the same issue.

for me, it turned out to be a hardware problem. if i pressed firmly on the bottom of the phone (below where the trackpad is), it would recognize that the phone was closed, and the onscreen keyboard would work again.

essentially, the slider never registered it was closed.

i had to have that phone replaced.
