Phone function Hit enter and it skips to next number instead of dialing?

Guys i just upgraded from 4.1 to 4.5 on old faithful 8700. With the old OS when i was in the phone menu all i had to do was hit Enter on the keyboard and it would dial the number but now it just skips down to the next number.
Is there anyway to bring back that feature? Not sure why the removed it now i have to hit the phone button again or scroll wheel.

Nope. That's one of the changes RIM implemented to standardize how the phone worked, across all versions of the OS. It's also the way almost all smartphones operate.
