I use my personal Blackberry Torch for work (Pay my own bill and account is in my name, but will occasionally expense for it some months) and have my work email tied to it. Can my employer or the IT look at my personal texts and web browsing through their back-end software somehow? I'm not familiar with options that you can do on the back-end. Any insight is appreciated.

How is your work email setup on your phone? If its setup via your carriers BIS portal then no, your company cannot see anything.

If it is setup on your companies BES Server then there is the potential your company can see some browser history and your BBM history. I'm not sure about texts.

If you use BIS for company email, then no they cannot see how you use the device and what you send/receive.

I never recommend using a personal BB on a company BES. If they want you to have email access, then they should provide the device.
