Hi just wondering if anyone could give me an idea if my phone is completely broken, basically got dropped yesterday onto a piece of wooden flooring and it froze at the homescreen, i didnt realise this at first but when i went to use it i noticed, had to remove battery to turn phone off and then inserted battery again but just has not powered up atall, i dont even get a red light or anything.

Any ideas what it could be or you think it will be broken??

No visable damage atall.

Another thing to add to this, as the phone wont power on atall, its not even getting recognised when i plug it into my laptop and have desktop software open.

Thinking that myself, just weird as i droped it inches and its happened.

Do u know if damage like this would be covered under warranty???

Also forgot to mention, do u think it could be the battery as that was very hot at the time i removed it.

Really hoping that this can be sorted now as only once have i had a red light on the phone, connected it via usb when desktop manager was open and got a red light that stayed on the device, computer woudlt read the device, and the red light stayed on, i disconnected to see if the light would come back but it hasnt since, so maybe after all the phone isnt completely useless, anyone have a solution for me to try if i get the red light back, as it just doesnt read to the computer.

If there is no physical damage you can give Tmo a call and see if they will replace it. I wouldn't tell them you dropped it though.

I will try that 1st thing monday then, in the mean time ill keep trying to make that red light appear again.

Fixed the phone myself, just left it alone since 8am this mornin and then tried connecting it via usb again and updated software and now works fine,

hi i have a bold 9700 and it will not turn on at all not even a red light i went out a bought a new battery and it is still not functioning at all..any ideas or help ?!?!!

Using the new battery charge the BlackBerry with a wall charger. Leave it for an hour. While it is still plugged in, remove the battery and then replace the battery. See if the BlackBerry boots. If so, leave it to finish charging.

You might also check and make sure the battery is tight in the compartment. The contact pins on the BlackBerry should be clean and not corroded. Make sure the pins are not bent out of place.
