Default Can I just change the SIM card form an 8700 to an 8100?

I currently have an 8700 Edge on the T-Mobile network from my work. It's old and I'm considering buying my own Pearl 8100 (T-Mobile) and just changing SIM cards.

Will this work...as with normal cell phones built for the same network?

I know when a previous 8700 Edge I had was replaced, the IT folks made a big deal of configuring it for me, so I'm a little hesitant buying a used Pearl and trying this.

If you're email is on a corporate BB server (BES), no, you can't just change the SIM card. The BES Admin will need to supply you with an activation password so you can activate the new device on the BES. The BES 'knows' you by your device PIN, which is unique to each device.

Thanks for the quick response. Believe I know my device PIN, but I'll check with them to make sure it's not something different. Appreciate the help.

It will be something different if you switch to the Pearl. Each device has it's own unique PIN. The server is sending mail to a specific PIN.
